In 1998, The Riverside Center was opened in Dauphin County to provide professionals from all walks of life a place to congregate and gain further knowledge on any number of professional development topics. In 2005 Riverside Associate´s training program incorporated as Riverside Professional Development under majority owner, Erin Vroman, adding to the number of woman-owned businesses in Central Pennsylvania.

Practical application to everyday life and active participation are core features of each of Riverside PD´s programs. While some programs were designed to meet the needs of individuals who work in education and human services, others address personal needs such as stress management, team building, and conflict management. The latter programs are applicable in all employment settings, as well as everyday life.

Additionally, Riverside PD began to produce educational events tailored to meet the unique needs of human service organizations. These programs assist participants in the acquisition of the skills necessary to excel in their field while helping them to build self-esteem, become confident in their abilities, and take pride in their accomplishments.

Mission

Riverside Professional Development´s goal is to educate and enrich the lives of Human Services and Education professionals. Our custom-made workshops address the challenges of intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and mental illness and offer relevant information to "teach the teacher," helping them to keep pace in their ever-changing work environment.

We believe that intimate, audience-driven presentations provide a more meaningful educational experience, and that each workshop, while employing a core format, should be tailored to meet the immediate needs of the audience over using a "canned" approach.

Riverside PD also tailors all private contracts to meet the client´s specific demographics and current needs. And, Riverside PD is available to consult with teams of two or more throughout Central Pennsylvania, the Tri-State Area, and Mid-Atlantic Region.
